Michael Jary


Michael Jary was one of the founding team of OC&C Strategy Consultants in 1987. This year marks his 30th year in consulting. Michael served as the Worldwide Managing Partner of OC&C from 2005 to 2011. Prior to that he had been the Managing Partner of OC&C’s UK office and the leader of the worldwide retail practice, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. One of the original founders of OC&C’s global presence in retail and consumer branded businesses, Michael's professional interest continues in these areas, where he works with the boards of major corporations in Europe, the Americas and Asia. He is a regular speaker and commentator in the retail sector and a guest lecturer in marketing at INSEAD.

Outside of OC&C, Michael is involved in several company boards and charities. He is a non-executive director of Nationwide, the UK’s largest savings brand and a top three consumer lender. He is the chairman of Duchy Originals, the food company established by HRH The Prince of Wales to promote organic farming and to help protect and sustain the countryside. He is the chairman of The Prince's Social Enterprises, a group of social enterprises which donate their profits to The Prince's Charities. And he is the chair of the board of trustees of The Fairtrade Foundation, which licenses the Fairtrade mark in the UK and works for better prices, decent working conditions and local sustainability for farmers and workers in the developing world.
